Ray, a native of Pooler, Georgia, attended Savannah Christian Preparatory School. As a young man, he was selected to participate in the Governor's Honors program for Mathematics. He attended college at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia, earning a degree in Computer Science. Using the "leading-edge technology" of a Commodore-64 computer, Ray created his first commercial program used by the Pirate's House Restaurant. His passion for programming and database design developed during this time After spending 2 years with a stock brokerage company, re-designing their nightly communication programs and installing a mid-sized Novell network, he found another passion - software training. At 23, Ray started his first company, Micro Concepts, which provided training to over 5,000 students and created a training program for Savannah Technical College in Pooler, Georgia. This company also developed data base programs for such vertical markets as trucking, food service, manufacturing, and financial industries. Ray received the Who's Who in Small Business award in 1990. Ray, and his wife Etta, moved to Atlanta in 1997 at which time he spear-headed the consulting practice for a small company - turning their business model to significant profitability within 1 year. He began working for Mercury Interactive in 1998, where his passion for programming was equaled only by his interest in functional and load testing software. In 2000, as the Sr. Systems Engineer, Ray received top world honors with Topaz, a program that monitors the availability and performance of web sites. Ray is considered an expert in software testing, application monitoring and database design. In addition to MooreWare.com, Ray has created several other cutting edge websites. AddaParagraph.com, a new concept, allows students to submit what they believe would be the next best paragraph for a number of books in progress. Another site, WebSitesbyRay.com, offers companies an easy way to contact him for their website design and creation. Today, Ray lives in Cumming, Georgia, about 40 miles north of Atlanta, with his wife Etta and 2 children Mollie and John Chaney.
